Onteora Parents Engaged Now (OPEN) was formed in early 2023 amid growing concerns about the Onteora Central School District seeking to close one or more of our community elementary schools with a view towards consolidating all students at one central campus. Our goal is to prevent these closures.

OPEN is made up of local parents, caregivers, educators, and community members who value the crucial role that community elementary schools play in rural districts.
